Thorin Oakenshield - Face study

Basically what the titel says - 6 Thorin faces, with different expressions and angles! Always before I start to draw 'real' fanart, I first draw a set of faces and bodies. Especially for Tolkien characters this is pretty handy, for the anatomy of Hobbits, Dwarves and Elves is pretty different from Men. By drawing this I noticed dwarves have big ears...

For reference I used the official photos from The Hobbit and screenshots from the movie and such. And damn, do I find it hard to imagine Thorin actually smiling... He almost never does! Serious guy he is.

I'm not too satisfied with the upper right drawing, somehow his face looks really off. Or I drew too little hair. Anyway, enjoy, you'll see more of Thorin and other characters (Kili! Fili! Bilbo!) later!
